In our role as the Urban Design Revitalization Specialist for New Mexico MainStreet, Groundwork Studio is working with Lovington MainStreet to develop design and implementation plan for wayfinding signage downtown. The signage will convey the importance and evolution of the energy industry to Lovington, and will include gateway and directional signage. Our team is also evaluating opportunities to integrate interactive elements into the signage, such as local trivia items and/or a story walk coordinated with the library’s educational programming. Three design options have been presented to Lovington MainStreet and the City and next steps will include refining signage content and location mapping.
