Groundwork Studio worked with the Town of Bayfield to develop a 10-year comprehensive plan for their parks, open space, trails and recreational facilities. Through an intensive exploration of existing facilities, transportation networks, programming, community engagement (including a pop-up playground for youth needs assessment), financial evaluation, GIS mapping and data synthesis, this plan provides an invaluable recreation roadmap for a community where access to outdoor recreation is a vital cultural and economic driver. Improved access and trails between Town resources and recreational opportunities were emphasized to strengthen recreation and community health’s economic impact. Our team simultaneously worked with the Town and Pine River Library to design-build a new Town/Library park, actively engaging partnerships strengthened to implement and monitor plan recommendations on the ground.
